Bye bye bye (in the NSync (thanks Sabine!) melody, off course)

First off, yesterday was really fun. I went with my grandparents to Van Der Valk where there was an exhibit of decorated easter eggs that people made themselves. It was a vendor set-up where the people who made the eggs sat behind the tables and you could buy them. In The Netherlands, a big tradition of Easter is an Easter tree and decorating eggs. These people took that to a whole new level. It was pretty impressive.

The rest of the afternoon was basically all about Dutch food.

At night we went to Geri's birthday where I caught up with friends of the family. We used to go skiing with them a lot and their daughter Marit I'm pretty sure is going to rule the world with her wit and skills.



Back to today, we spent the morning getting filmed by Johan who is the cameraman for the documentary for Edwin's collection. If they use anything from to day I'll be in it, so here's to hoping :-) It was a little weird talking and making a mood board like there wasn't a camera pointed your way but it okay. He'll be periodically coming by to film bits and pieces and I'm excited to see the end result.

When I had to go to the fabric store, I saw this and I think it's hilarious because I wouldn't think they would associate a skunk with a product that already has a distinct smell. Fail.

We then worked on making a knitting pattern of a fabric Edwin had designed that incorporates his logo and the star of David. I had a proud moment because when Edwin was done with it, I (nicely) said that it didn't look right to me and suggested altering the shape and pattern on part of it. This worked and it's nice to know that I'm not a prop in the atelier. We have a good time working together and we're starting to really get in the swing of things. 

After lunch, Edwin realized the wedding dress needed to be done. He said he was going to finish it over the weekend but I already told my grandparents that that meant we would be finishing it last minute monday. This was true. I stayed late again to help put on the finishing touches and when I left at 7, he still had a few things to do. The bride was coming to pick up the dress and pack it in her suitcase (she;s getting married in Aruba) at 8. I assume it all went splendidly and that she'll be the most beautiful bride ever. So now the dress is REALLY done. Bye bye bye. There is still another wedding dress that need to be made for next month but it's simpler so hopefully we'll really start working on the collection now.
