Crazy.

Actually, my day was pretty calm. I spent the morning finishing the muslin of the corset dress, which took a lot more time than I thought it would because you have to work so precisely and hand sew things together before machine stitch it. It came out nice but there are still alterations that need to be made so I'll be doing that tomorrow. After lunch, I went to the printing place to print a bunch of pictures Edwin took of Noortje's drawings. I was on Dam Square around 15:30u (yes, I'm going to do it the Dutch was, just subtract 12 it's easy) and there was not a trace of the craziness that had ensued in front of the National Monument at 12:30u.

A man set himself in fire. No, really. ON FIRE. So sad. From what I've heard and read, he didn't speak Dutch very well and bystanders extinguished the flames with jackets and water buckets. The man was carried away by paramedics heavily wounded. I've heard of monks doing that in Asia in protest but what in the world was this about?!? I was 2 streets away and didn't even know it happened until I got back to my grandparents'. Crazy.

There's a video on Youtube if you don't believe me but it's intense.

On a lighter note, I'm graduating soon and I want to make my dress! Now I just need to get around to it. Actually, in the time it takes me to post on this blog every day, I probably could have already made one.
